Global Citizens 17 - Ashley Stubbs

A huge warm welcome to our 17th Global Citizen, Ashley Stubbs.

Ashley is 26 and comes from Wimauma, Florida but has been living in Lithia, Florida for the past 3 years where she works as a waitress and bar tender.

Ashley is a small town girl who lives a simple and laid back and she has no desire to change it; preferring to be alone in the woods with a good book, learning about essential oils, going running with her dogs or practicing strong mental rituals than living a life in the hustle and bustle of towns and cities.

Thank you Ashley for taking the time to share your thoughts with Global Citizens.

What makes you happy?

So many things cause a spike in my happiness;

…strangers showing random acts of kindness,

…people loving each other,

…people showing an empathetic heart to Mother Earth and her children and creatures,

…birds singing on a sunny day,

…deep green rolling mountains.

These things and more, all make me happy because they allow me to feel happiness deeply, not at a surface level but a deep raw feeling of innocent love.

What makes you sad?

Sadness is a misunderstanding and confusion about a particular problem.

When a feeling of sadness comes over me I try to change my thinking and figure out the reason for the cause of the sadness and what the effect was that took place.

Two things, as an example, that cause me sadness are:

…when a fellow human being decides to be hateful and mistreats another soul.

…when I do not give myself enough self love. When I become overwhelmed and ridden with grief that I do not deserve to be on this planet.

What makes you proud?

Something that makes me proud is when I finish and whole-heartedly complete a task that I had self-doubt in to begin with.

What makes you wonder?

The continuation of life makes me wonder…

The fact that death is not real…

And why do we see things the way we do?

Why is it different from another human being?

What does it mean to be human?

To me, being human is to FEEL.

Experiencing life’s consequences ultimately makes you stronger and wiser. This is what being human is to me.

When did you last show a stranger an act of kindness?

Why do you see things the way you do?

How would you answer if you were asked?

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read Global Citizens.

Have a great day.
