Global Citizens 19 - Emmeline D'Antona

A huge warm welcome to our 19th Global Citizen, Emmeline D’Antona.

Emmeline is 28, from the beautiful countryside of Southern France but now calls Shanghai her home where she works as the Senior Account Manaager and Marketing Director for Wineo.

After spending 1 year in Xi’an, China Emmeline returned to France with a love for China, the language and culture; especially the food. Back in France, Emmeline started to follow the Dukan diet which allowed for one glass of wine per day and this is where Emmeline’s love of the wine industry started.

Emmeline loves China, loves wine and what better place to follow both her passions than in Shanghai.

Thank you Emmeline for taking the time to share your thoughts with Global Citizens.

What makes you happy?

So many things:

…the smell of the street after a rainy day.

…hearing the birds singing in the morning.

…going back to France in the summer.

…eating chocolate.

…coffee latte with cinnamon.

…retuning home to find my love already here.

…babies smiling.

…preparing good healthy food.

…eating good healthy food.

…enjoying the after-glow of working out.

…discovering wine.

…talking about wine.

…drinking wine.

So many!

What makes you sad?

Losing someone.

Losing someone to disease or an accident.

There are many bad things that unfortunately happen in life.

What makes you proud?

I am proud to be able to work in China and my working language be Chinese; I can communicate clearly with my customers and my friends.

I am proud when I identify a goal and I achieve it.

What makes you wonder?

I wonder how to answer this question…

What does it mean to be human?

For me being human is what makes us different from other animals.

Our ability to think, to wonder about the world.

Our ability to create new things, new ideas; to learn from our mistakes.

Our ability to identify with cultures and their history while learning from the past.

Our ability to undestand others and help people.

Being human is being a better version of ourselves.

How many things make you happy in your day?

What was the last goal you achieved?

How would you answer if you were asked?

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read Global Citizens.

Have a great day.
